JOHNSON CAMPUS
What We Have to Offer

The space Johnson has been given by God is not just for us.  It's for our community.  As you will see, from our building to the edge of the Back-40, basketball, soccer, prayer, to a disc golf course and outdoor chapel, Johnson has a place for you to connect with God and people just like you.  Have fun, build relationships, and make a difference.  Yes, we're all about community and being for our community.  Take a look below to find out more.

Johnson UMC at Norton
Building

In 1995, God blessed us with our current worship space.  An open concept, spacious, accessible to all people, and welcoming, there's nothing that we can't do in life, ministry, or mission, to be the hands and feet of Jesus, both here at Johnson Church and beyond our walls.

Sports Ministry & More: Basketball leagues from children to young adults, volleyball and other sports, to family programming, large gatherings, and more.  Our Family Life Center is filled with just that: life, love, and fun throughout the year.  To find out more about the Family Life Center, or reserve it, contact the church office.

Back 40

Johnson UMC is blessed to have 37 acres of God's beauty on display behind the church. This former farmland is a mixture of brush-land and forest, full of deer, rabbits, song birds and other wildlife.  The Back 40 is a multi-use area with several facilities for recreation, worship and contemplation.

Outdoor Chapel

Created as an Eagle Scout project by Thomas Lewis, the outdoor chapel has grown into a worship area with six rows of pews, altar, cross and fire-pit. The chapel is accessed by the Chapel Trail which starts from the corner of the parking lot by the church office.  The trail is lined with posts for hanging lights and includes a bridge which is a frequent spot for photos. Contact the church office if you are interested in reserving the chapel for special events.

The Johnson UMC disc golf course now has 18 baskets!  The first nine holes (#1 - 4, 14 - 18) wind through the brush-land portion of the Back 40.  The second nine holes (#5 - 13) are located in the forest at the back of the church property.  The course is free to play and open to all. When playing, please be alert for walkers and other users. For more course details, go to dgcoursereview.com, discgolfscene.com or the UDisc mobile app.

Prayer Labyrinth

The prayer labyrinth is located approximately 150 yds. from the parking lot, off of the fairway of hole #2 on the disc golf course.  After the "Back 40" sign between the FLC and the barn, follow the signs starting at the #1 tee.  As you travel to and from the prayer labyrinth please be aware of flying discs when crossing disc golf fairways.

A 1/2 mile loop has been blazed and is in the process of being improved with road grindings. Only about 200 yds. have been improved to date, but it is open for use.  As an alternate, following the disc golf course is a 2 mile hike. When hiking the disc golf course, please be aware of and considerate to disc golfers.
